Are there plans to make the RAF Radar Station at Bishopscourt, Co Down a base for nuclear weapons?
Protesters believe that the RAF Radar Station at Bishopscourt, Co Down will become a NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) site for Britain.
Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) Councillor Pat Toner does not believe that the site is being used as a nuclear base and has received assurances from the Commanding Officer of the RUC who says he would not allow his men to be there if it were being used as a nuclear base.
This footage shot for RTÉ News shows the area around Bishopscourt and protesters blocking the entrance to the site.
Speaking to RTÉ News, one protester believes that this plant could be part of the nuclear chain leading to a nuclear war.
