Westmeath beat Laois in replay to become Leinster Football Champions for the first time.

The two teams were meeting again in Croke Park following a draw the previous Sunday. Westmeath prevailing to take the Delaney cup for the first time. The final whistle unleashed ecstatic celebrations from the team and their supporters. Páidí Ó Sé a Kerry man managing Westmeath to their greatest success tells RTÉ News.

We knew the team deserved this and at half time there was no way we were going to be beaten. They are tough men in Westmeath I will tell you that much.
