The multi-functional mobile phone has become a fashion essential and status symbol.

Pamela Flood presents a report on the popularity of fashionable mobile phones which now have multiple functions and can be decorated to suit individual taste.

Tara Blake  Head of Marketing Carphone Warehouse  says that there are 4.5 million phones in Ireland as people have work phones and weekend phones. All the major phone manufactures now  have fashion ranges to meet demand.

Functionality is taken as a given , it's now more about fashion

‘Off the Rails’ is a weekly half-hour fashion programme. It was first broadcast on 27 September 2000 with Fiona McShane and Liz Bonnin as the presenters. Caroline Morahan and Pamela Flood then presented it from 2002 to 2007. In 2008 the programme was revamped into its current format and is now presented by Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon.
