The National Dairy Council Milk Funday took place across the country raising money for Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin.

More than thirty fun runs and walks were held to raise funds for the Children's Research Centre in Crumlin Hospital. The Milk Funday’s target this year is a quarter of a million pounds, which is the cost of a CAT scanner. At present sick children in the hospital must be transported to an adult hospital for CT scans.

International athlete and Olympian Eamon Coghlan opens the Phoenix Park run with Tánaiste and Minister for Defence Brian Lenihan, who has arrived straight from the Fianna Fáil Árd Fheis.

While the runners give their all, the Tallaght Youth Band and rock band No Sweat are just two of the bands providing the entertainment.
