The oldest surviving guildhall in Dublin, Tailors' Hall has undergone an elegant restoration for future use.

Located near Christ Church Cathedral, Tailors' Hall, built in 1706 has undergone extensive restoration. Originally estimated at £20,000, the cost of the work rose to approximately £27,000.

Another part of old Dublin has been saved for posterity thanks to the dedication of the preservationists.

The work of skilled craftsmen has restored the fine staircase and the white marble fireplace to return the ancient building to its former grandeur. Once the largest public meeting space in the city, Tailors’ Hall has hosted countless gatherings and debates over nearly three centuries, including meetings of the Freemasons and the United Irishmen.

The hall features an internal balcony where musicians once performed, while four tall windows emphasise its impressive proportions.

Now fully restored, Tailors’ Hall will once again be available for concerts, meetings, and public events.
