After meeting in an internet chat room, Dominic Butler from Ballybunnion marries Gina Monroe from Las Vegas.

Dominic Butler a student from Ballybunion County Kerry has married Gina Monroe from Las Vegas at a civil ceremony in Killarney surrounded by family and friends.

It was a marriage made in Cyberspace.

In June 2001, Dominic Butler met gas company employee Gina Monroe in an internet Christian chatroom. The couple had mutual friends in the chatroom and got to know each other that way.

Within weeks the couple had fallen in love, he proposed, she accepted.

The pair became engaged before they actually met in person. Gina Monroe moved to Kerry in November 2001.

Dominic Butler accepts their love story is not traditional, but thinks internet romances are becoming more commonplace. While some internet relationships fail,

I'm just hoping ours will blossom, it should.

The newlyweds plan to live in Ballybunion where Gina will get a job and Dominic will complete his studies.
