All over Ireland, people are taking part in events for the 1994 RTÉ People in Need Telethon, to raise money for charity.
At the Stillorgan Bowl, RTÉ Sports broadcaster Des Cahill and RTÉ 2fm DJ Ian Dempsey go head to head in a ten pin bowling challenge.
Tony the Tiger, the Frosties mascot is there on behalf of Kellogg's one of the corporate sponsors for the People in Need Telethon.
The telethon runs across RTÉ on Network 2 with 'Den Telethon’ hosted by Ray D'Arcy, Dustin and friends. The main Telethon, hosted by Gay Byrne, is broadcast live from RTÉ Studio 1 from 6 pm. People are asked to join in by organising a fundraising event or by pledging a donation during the programme.
The 1994 Telethon raised over £3 million for the People in Need charity, surpassing the 1993 fundraising total of £2.2 million.
