There was a break with tradition at the Dublin Horse Show when the ‘Best Dressed Lady’ competition became the ‘Best Dressed Person’ competition.
A look back at the inaugural ‘Best Dressed Person Day’ at the Dublin Horse Show. While the ladies pulled out all the stops sartorially, generally the men at the RDS continued to favour the more traditional look.
There was also a ‘Most Creative Hat’ competition with one entrant commenting:
I just entered for the fun of it, I love making things and being creative, so I just decided to make my hat.
The winner of the ‘Most Creative Hat’ competition was the ‘Polka Dot Woman’ Gilly Carson from Lisburn in County Antrim. Another woman, Sheila Doyle from Clondalkin in Dublin, won the coveted Best Dressed Person’ title, along with a £7000 Brown Thomas voucher prize.
