In 1965 reporter Kevin MacDonald met Joe Tuffy as he travelled from Longford to Dublin by steamroller.
After three days of travelling Joe Tuffy still has 26 miles to go before his journey ends. Kevin MacDonald quizzes him about enduring the cold and the boredom of this slow journey.
It's a bit slow alright but I get I'll get used to it.
At the time, there was no other way to transport the steamroller from Longford to Dublin, and so Joe decided to take to the road on the long, slow journey to Dublin.
