Dublin City Ballet provide the opening to the show to find Ireland's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest.

The Olympia Theatre in Dublin is the venue for Eurosong '88, the national song contest.

The Dublin City Ballet open a night of entertainment with the dance 'Sea Image' choreographed by Anne Courtney. The music was written by The Chieftains and arranged by Andy O'Callaghan.

The RTÉ Concert Orchestra conducted by Noel Kelehan provide the music on the night.

Ireland has entered the Eurovision Song Contest on 22 occasions. On 18 of those occasions, we were in the top 12 and we won it three times.

The 1987 Eurovision Song Contest was won by Johnny Logan for a second time. As a result of Johnny's win, Ireland will be hosting Eurovision at the RDS on 30 April.
