A new ballet company brings dance to a Limerick park on summer evenings .
The Mid-Western Ballet is the creation of husband and wife team John and Jean Regan. Having worked extensively overseas, the couple retired to Limerick. However, retirement was put on hold when they decided to set up their ballet school in the hope of promoting dance in what they saw was an area depleted of its artistic expression.
John Regan has danced and choreographed in some of the leading ballet companies internationally. His troop of local dancers are now putting on a display of ballet in the People's Park in Limerick.
About two hundred and thirty pupils learn from an early age the rudiments of mime and movement to music.
Performances take place on weekday evenings in the park over the summer months.
