Limerick family live in desperate conditions in the village of Doon.

Mrs Murphy and her five children live in Doon, County Limerick. Their neighbours are the McLoughlin family, who through no fault of their own, are living in squalid conditions. Their home is rat infested, without a direct water supply or a toilet.

Mrs Murphy confirms her dwelling conditions are exactly same as those experienced by her neighbours. Her five children ranging in age from three to 16 years are

All sleeping in the same room.

Ideally Mrs Murphy would like to have a house with four rooms. However the chances of getting such a place to live are non-existent and she has no expectation of moving out of her current place of residence.
