Minister for Local Government Neil Blaney opens Clarke Villas, a new housing scheme in Clonmel, County Tipperary.
At an official ceremony Minister for Local Government Neil Blaney cuts the ribbon across the entrance to Clarke Villas, the new housing estate in Clonmel, County. The minister was assisted by the Mayor of Clonmel, Alderman William Corbett.
The 46 house scheme is named in honour of the 1916 proclamation signatory Thomas Clarke. The contractors for the new homes are McNamara of Lisdoonvarna, County Clare. Clarke Villas concludes the development of a corporation site on the north west side of Clonmel, now containing a total of 205 houses.
Before the opening ceremony, Reverend. Father Paul Beecher, Catholic Curate at St Mary's, Clonmel, blesses the houses.
