Limerick gets a post woman and for the first time mail is delivered by a female in the city.
Residents in the Ennis Road area of Limerick had their mail delivered this morning by a woman. The first post lady in the city is eighteen year old Patricia Dollard.
Until recently she has been working in the Telegrams section of Limerick Post Office.
When the job of postman was advertised, it was open to both women and men, and following the interview and an examination, Patricia Dollard was announced as the successful candidate.
