Marking the relationship between Ireland and France in the bicentenary year of the French Revolution.

President Hillery emphasises the links between Ireland and France in the bicentenary year of the French Revolution. The president also paid tribute to France for the inspiration it provided to the founding fathers of the Irish state.

Dr. Pierre Joannon, Chairman of the Ireland France Fund, also addresses the crowd in Kilcummen Village, where the French came ashore in 1798.

Jim Cooney of the Humbert Summer School says the aim of the school is to promote reconciliation between Ireland, Britain and France.
