There is no shortage of energy at a local talent contest held in Rosslare, County Wexford.

Over 600 people turn up to see the finalists perform in a talent contest held at Rosslare Strand in County Wexford. Broadcaster Gay Byrne joins Wexford locals Michael Murray and Mary Carberry to judge the event.

Wexford man Packie Hayden gives a crowd pleasing and wildly energetic performance of 'The Hucklebuck'.

Which owed nothing to showband singer Brendan Bowyer.

Third prize in the contest collected by Gráinne Flannelly, leader of the Friends in Harmony, a group of eight girls aged 13 to 15 from Rosslare Harbour who often perform for guests in the Great Southern Hotel.

Jane Adams from Wexford is awarded second prize. Packie Hayden is declared the overall winner of the contest. He receives a trophy and treats those in attendance to his version of the Chubby Checker number 'Lets Twist Again'.
