A troupe of mummers provide entertainment in Gweedore, County Donegal.
Part of Irish tradition for centuries, Mummers are troupes of amateur actors who perform short plays within their community or neighbouring communities during the twelve days of Christmas.
The play involves three characters including an Irish soldier, Prince George and a doctor and always contains a combat scene, followed by the death and revival of Prince George. The death represents winter and the revival symbolises spring.
