Dublin Bus reduces Halloween night services in Tallaght fearing attacks on drivers and passengers.

Following incidents in previous years that put drivers and customers at risk Dublin Bus are limiting certain routes in the Tallaght area on Halloween night.

The company is to halt some services to the area after 6.00 pm. Buses will arrive and depart from The Square shopping centre only.

Some locals are unhappy by this precautionary measure as it interferes with their Halloween plans.

We’ll either have to be back before six or not bother going at all, last year we had to walk back from The Square.

One woman understands why the curtailment is happening,

You can’t really blame the busmen ‘cause there’ll be gangs out tomorrow night.

Another woman blames children in the area for throwing stones at the buses, saying they ruin things for everyone.

Meanwhile, in Dublin city centre the Samhain Halloween parade is underway with marching bands, theatre groups and other artistic and community organisations making their way from Parnell Square to Temple Bar.
