Let's rock with the supergroup The Famous Valentines perform.

The Famous Valentines is a group of individuals who normally play in other bands. These include The Dubliners, The Fureys and Davey Arthur, The Chieftains and Stepaside. The Famous Valentines often feature RTÉ broadcaster Ronan Collins on drums.

They’re all musicians in their own right and they get together every now and then in this particular grouping for a jam session.

The Famous Valentines perform repertoire includes songs from the 1950s and 1960s. In a nod to their upcoming gig in Mountjoy Prison the band performs ‘Jailhouse Rock’ originally made famous by Elvis Presley.

In this instance, vocal duties are shared between blues soul singer Rob Strong, Eddie Furey, and Eamon Campbell. Adding to the jam session is Davy Arthur on guitar, John Sheahan on fiddle, Paddy Moloney on tin whistle and Dave Mac Ananey on keyboards.

At the end of an energic performance that leaves Eddie Furey gasping for breath, an amused Gay Byrne remarks,

You crowd of chancers.
