All in the aid of charity, Rag Week at Trinity College Dublin allows students let off steam before exams begin.
The Trinity Rag Week Committee is responsible for organising events in Trinity College Dublin (TCD) for its Rag (raise and give) Week, an important charity fundraiser. During this week,
The college’s 6,000 students take leave of their senses for the last time before settling into their exams.
The Rag Week sports events in College Park see teams of students participating in fancy dress. Most of them are blissfully unaware of the huge effort that goes into the organisation of these events.
Rag Week culminates with the annual Trinity Ball. For the second year running organisers are dealing with the issue of counterfeit Trinity Ball tickets. Some 500 tickets worth £20,000 have been forged. Tickets on the black market are selling for up to £40 each.
The advice for the 5,000 people planning to attend the Trinity Ball is to check their tickets are legitimate.
Holders of forged tickets won’t be allowed attend.
The counterfeiting operation is currently under Fraud Squad investigation.
