An Irish Film Institute education programme brings NASA space exploration footage to students around the country.
Hundreds of students in Letterkenny, County Donegal got a chance to eat popcorn and learn about science on a visit to the cinema through the Irish Film Institute (IFI) programme. The students were treated to the very first high definition images of the moon and previously unseen NASA footage of the Apollo missions in the film 'In the Shadow of the Moon'.
A history and science lesson like none before.
Basil Al-Rawi from the IFI introduces the film and speaks about the first high definition images of the moon. This is a chance to see the footage being shown on a cinema screen. For one young viewer, the best part was getting a real insight into the personalities of the astronauts.
The IFI is taking the film on tour and the next stop is Galway.
