Best known as a comedian Eddie Izzard is now looking to play straight roles in film.
Eddie Izzard has just finished filming 'The Secret Agent' alongside Bob Hoskins, Joseph Conrad, Patricia Arquette and Gérard Depardieu. The film is based on a novel by Joseph Conrad with Eddie Izzard playing the part of Russian villain Vladimir.
It's set in the 1880s and I play a Russian and he's just a nasty piece of work. He just an evil git.
Eddie Izzard has always loved film and from a young age how has wanted to act. So excited to have a part in a film he even hung around the set when he was not in a scene. When he was young he would sneak into the Pinewood and Shepperton studios to fulfill his fascination.
With a stand up routine that is quite upbeat and surreal, Eddie Izzard has been tapping into the darker side of his personality for the acting straight roles.
