Liverpudlian comedian, Alexei Sayle, dubbed a Post Monty Python Comedian, made an appearance on The Late Late Show ahead of his show at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin in 1985.

Sayle released a number of comedy singles in the early to mid 1980s, the most successful of which was 'Ullo John! Gotta New Motor', which made it into the UK Top 20.
