Comedian, writer and performer Victoria Wood entertains host Gay Byrne and viewers with her unique take on life.

In Dublin to perform three shows at the Olympia Theatre, the UK’s top funny woman chatted to Gay about her awkward teenage years, and where the urge to perform came from,

I just used to stay in and watch Benny Hill...I thought that perhaps I could do better than him

Victoria Wood first came to prominence in 1974 when she appeared on the British television talent show ‘New Faces’. By the time she appeared on ‘The Late Late Show’ she was also an established songwriter, pianist, playwright, television presenter and author-screenwriter.

I’m not writing what you’re saying now
