Triple joy as three generations of one Ballyfermot family are born on the same day at the same hospital.
Eighty-five year old Eileen McGuinness from Ballyfermot welcomes three generations of her family, all born on the same day, in the same hospital within a half hour of each other.
The arrival of one new baby is a great occasion for any family. But for the McGuinness family it was triple the joy, as babies, Michael, Calum and Logan were all born in the Coombe Hospital, on the same day, within a half an hour of each other.
The boys are a grandson, a great-grandson and a great-great-grandson for 85 year old Eileen McGuinness, who welcomed them at a family gathering at her home in Ballyfermot.
Eileen McGuinness who has 16 children now has 69 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is kept on her toes trying to remember all of their names and birthdays.
I have birthdays every day and maybe three in the one day.
The triple arrival was not planned as Michael, Calum and Logan were all due on different days. Calum’s mother Amy Hoey was shocked when she found out that she; Lindsay and Mary had all given birth within the same half hour.
We had no clue at all until the next day when we were all on the same ward and it was just when all the family came up then that we found out.
The McGuinness family may already be huge but they are still growing. Another three great-grandchildren are on the way.
