Enjoying a week long festival of music, dance, sports and exhibitions in Mullingar.

The message from the Festival of the Ivories in Mullingar, County Westmeath is that it has been a good year.

Mullingar is expanding and emigrants are returning home at least for a week specifically for the event.

A festival that celebrates the culture and in particular the music of the Midlands.

Festival President Jim Bourke describes the festival as a community event with involvement from twelve major sporting bodies, voluntary groups and the Chamber of Commerce. The festival is about promoting the Midlands as a tourist destination which will create jobs in the region.
