Actors and musicians take to the stage for a gala evening to raise funds for the Abbey Theatre.

The gala concert ‘Artistes Salute The Abbey’ produced by the Abbey's artistic director Noel Pearson, is a one off production to raise £50,000 towards the £5 million development fund target for the theatre over a five year period.

The audience at the £50 per ticket gala evening will experience songs, poetry and excerpts from celebrated stage works by prestigious performers including Bono, Daniel Day-Lewis, Burgess Meredith, Jason Miller and Maureen Potter, alongside actors from the Abbey Theatre.

Lead singer with U2, Bono, is pleased to be involved in the event as he thinks,

It’s a shame to have the national theatre in Superquinn.

He will be performing a musical interpretation of two WB Yeats poems ‘September 1913’ and ‘Mad as the Mist and Snow’.
