Thousands took part in the second annual Dublin City Cycle through the streets of the capital.
The event is aimed at encouraging Dubliners and their families to use bicyles to get around the city. For just one hour the streets were car free making way for people from all over Dublin and their bicycles.
The bicycle became the preferred mode of transport for the city centre.
Michael Aherne of the Dublin Transportation Office talks about the initiative and plans by Dublin City Council to encourage cycling in the city.
