Bride Ann Brown and groom Kevin McEnery had a traditional white wedding in the Belfield Church at University College Dublin (UCD).
But their choice of transport to the reception was far from traditional, a tandem bicycle, a novel way of dealing with the petrol shortages caused by a crisis in the Middle East.
Ann, a clerical supervisor from Ranelagh is known to her friends as Daisy. So, when they suggested that she would look sweet, upon the seat, of a bicycle made for two, she had to agree. Kevin, a barman from Killiney took the front seat and the pair peddled off into the sunset while their friends went back to the petrol queues.
