In 1938 Douglas 'Wrong Way' Corrigan arrived in Dublin having made an extraordinary flight. Having left New York for California on 17 July 1938, Corrigan misread his compass and landed in Baldonnel instead of Los Angeles. Corrigan was in the air for a total of 26 hours.
