RTÉ News visits Scoil Mhuire in An Spidéal, County Galway, to see the work of fifth and sixth class students in project about life under the sea.
Spreag timpeallacht An Spidéal i gCondae na Gaillimhe na cailíní sa 5ú agus 6ú rang i Scoil Mhuire faoin tionscadal seo faoin ndúlra a dhéanamh.
Living in a coastal town the pupils were inspired to look at the natural life of the sea shore. They produced an exhibition of drawings and essays about the fish, plants, birds and shells of the shoreline.
Pupil Martina Ní Chonghaile speaks to RTÉ News about the project, which won first prize in its category in Slógadh '86 which took place in Mullingar the previous April.
The pupils of Scoil Mhuire enjoyed the experience and now have a better understanding of their locality. They hope that their project will inspire other boys and girls around the country to look at the area where they live.
