Kings of Leon set to reign at Slane Castle.

80,000 tickets for the Kings of Leon concert at Slane Castle, due to take place next May, sold out in 40 minutes when they went on sale. Fans were impressed by the headline act and the lineup and rushed to make sure to have a place in the crowd.

Organisers of the event say that problems at Slane Castle such as traffic congestion issue experienced last year, will be addressed in time for next year's concert.

People were not put off by the concert price and willing to pay €79 for a ticket. RTÉ 2FM DJ Rick O'Shea believes people are being more careful with their money due to the recession but when they do go out, it is a big blowout. Justin Greene of promoters MCD says it has been a great week for concert ticket sales in Ireland, with Take That, Taylor Swift and Kings of Leon all announcing shows and over a quarter of a million tickets snapped up.
