Competition in Roundwood, County Wicklow tests sheep dogs on practical skills used in their working lives.
As many as 40 competitors from all over Ireland take part in the 30th annual Roundwood Sheepdog Trials in County Wicklow.
Among them is Tim Flood from County Wexford, a former All-Ireland hurler, who represented Ireland at the 1977 International Sheepdog Trials held in Wales.
National President of the Irish Section of the International Sheepdog Society Willie Murphy from Tallaght carries off the overall award with his dog Glen.
In second place is local man Eoin Molloy and in third place George Lutton from Portadown in Northern Ireland.
Willie Murphy also wins the Wicklow championship title. Sean Moss from Kilkenny is awarded the novice championship.
