Mick Jagger and Charles Haughey see the handover of Kilkenny Castle.
The Marquis of Ormonde hands over the keys to Kilkenny Castle to Mr James Gibbons, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance and Chairman of the Kilkenny Castle Restoration and Development Committee.
The ceremony took place in the grounds of Kilkenny Castle and coincided with the first international Butler rally. Amongst those in attendance at the ceremony were Minister for Finance Charles Haughey and Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger.
The event marked the end of one phase and the beginning of a new phase in the history of Kilkenny Castle.
