Musician Sharon Shannon and her siblings Garry, Majella, Sharon and Mary grew up in a musical family in Ruan, County Clare. All four were members of Dísirt Tola, with Sharon Shannon joining the group when she was eight years old. The siblings toured widely with the band in their teenage years.
