Information: |
This series of 'Bring Down the Lamp' has fifteen parts and was recorded on location. In an interview for the RTÉ Guide magazine presenter Tony MacMahon explained about the series: "The object is to show what a wealth of solo traditional musicians there is all over the country. They form the backbone of our traditional music and yet they remain almost anonymous. We have deliberately stayed away from including any of the modern trendy folk groups or in deed any of the traditional musicians of groups who have had constant exposure on television." The extract featured here is from the first episode in the series and was recorded at Bunratty Folk Park, in Clare. |
