Skating on the rise as new ice age takes a grip in Dublin.

Ray D'Arcy visits the ice rink in Dolphin's Barn to find out more about the growing popularity for taking to the ice.

Ice skating is really taking off.

There are all levels of ability on display at the rink from the beginners to seasoned professionals. For the regular skaters, it is not a cheap hobby with ice skating boots costing around £58 a pair. The blades must be sharpened regularly at a cost of £2.

Some of the teenagers have plans to form a girls ice hockey team. Ray D'Arcy on the other hand is not so confident on the ice.
