Beatles John and George cross swords at Dromoland Castle.

Beatles John Lennon and George Harrison spend the Easter weekend at Dromoland Castle in County Clare. The Liverpudlians had flown into Shannon airport accompanied by John's wife Cynthia Lennon and George's girlfriend Pattie Boyd.  The four were looking to spend a few days away from the public eye in the quiet surroundings of the stately Dromoland Castle.

Pattie Boyd was starring in the film 'Beatlemania' and would later marry George in 1966.

After finding swords on suits of armour in the castle, the pair took to the gardens for a fencing duel and posed for photographs for members of the press.
