Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová on the success of 'Once' the movie and winning an Academy Award.

On 24 February 2008, Dubliner Glen Hansard and Czech Markéta Irglová won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for 'Falling Slowly' which featured in the film 'Once'.

A week later, with their Oscar in tow, they were back in Dublin and spoke to Ryan Tubridy about their success at the Academy Awards, the after show parties and the people they met.

Michael Moore, George Clooney, Laura Linney, Tom Hanks, and Aretha Franklin, are just some of the famous names that they had the opportunity to meet at the event. But it was Daniel Day-Lewis that had the biggest impact on Glen Hansard. While Markéta does not consider herself to be an actress, she really enjoyed the process of making 'Once'.

There was a great sense of making a movie with your friends.

Glen and Marketa perform the winning song 'Falling Slowly'.

This episode of 'Tubridy Tonight' was broadcast on 1 March 2008. The presenter is Ryan Tubridy.
