As Ireland enjoys a heatwave people throughout the country have taken the opportunity to get a tan. However many are staying in the sun too long and are suffering from severe sunburn.
Reporter Colm Connolly talks to a Consultant Dermatologist about the dangers of photosensitising drugs.
By ingesting them, they increase in some the sensitivity of the skin to sun light... People are more likely to get sunburn when taking them.
He strongly advises anyone taking such drugs to consult their doctor before exposing themselves to the sun.
