The cherry blossom is out and the flower beds are in full bloom in Saint Stephen's Green as children feed the ducks and fish for tadpoles.

An anti-cyclone over the North Sea brought unusually warm weather to Ireland in April 1976 with temperatures reaching as high as 20 degrees centigrade. The highest temperature was recorded in Cahirciveen county Kerry on 20 April with temperatures reaching 21 degrees centigrade.
