Over 400 children turned up at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin to audition for parts in the stage version of 'Bugsy Malone'.
Young hopefuls seeking parts as gangsters and their molls
Reporter Conor Fennell talks to Director Brian de Salvo about the auditions and the quality of talent of the future stars of stage. De Salvo describes what he is looking for from the young actors and performers. He is looking for "that spark" alongside "professional expertise".
If successful the young actors will have to commit themselves to over five months of hard work between rehearsals and performances.
