Danny Sugerman, former manager of the rock band The Doors.

Danny Sugerman became manager of The Doors when he was just 17 years old. He tells Gay Byrne about his experiences with drugs, his relationship with his father and his latest book 'Wonderland Avenue - Tales of Glamour and Excess'. 

On his drug addiction he says,

I was doing a gram of heroin and at least a gram of cocaine minimum daily.

Commenting on his reasons for taking drugs he says,

I was always looking for something outside of myself to make myself feel at home, to make me feel acceptable, to feel loved.

Danny Sugerman is also the co-author of 'No One Here Gets Out Alive'. Following the death of Jim Morrison in 1971, he went on to manage Ray Manzarek and Iggy Pop.

Danny Sugerman died in 2005 at the age of 50.
