American singer-songwriter Maria McKee drops into 'Nighthawks' to talk about her chart success.

'Show Me Heaven' spent four weeks at the top of the UK singles chart in 1990. Singer Maria McKee talks about the creativity in her family with an artist mother, a craftsman father and a musician brother. 

On achieving the number one position in the charts, she says,

It's exciting because more people will get to hear my music.

When is comes to song writing, Maria McKee describes herself as,

An eleventh hour writer.

Maria McKee is due to play an AIDS Alliance benefit gig at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin. She will also be pounding the streets with the likes of Simon Carmody and Gavin Friday collecting money for the cause.
