A Donegal seaside resort is devastated after a hotel fire leaves guests dead and injured.
A fire broke out in the Central Hotel in Bundoran around 12.30am on 8 August 1980. It had been a busy night. A cabaret show had just ended and there were around 60 guests staying in the hotel. Many were able to escape, but according to receptionist Christine Clarke:
It was a scene of chaos... Everyone was panicking.
Ten people died, including five children. All four members of the Brennan family from Naas County Kildare perished.
