A campaign to promote Irish goods was officially opened at an exhibition in Cork by Minister for Transport and Power Peter Barry.

At the launch Minister Barry comments on the importance of buying Irish not for any patriotic reasons but rather because Irish products are the best.

We want to very aggressively sell Irish goods on the home market. But not from an old-fashioned, emotional, semi-plea to buy Irish purely because it is Irish... We want people to buy Irish because it is better.

The Guaranteed Irish promotion opened in the Munster Arcade in Cork.

The report shows a fashion show of Irish clothing ranges as well as a variety of Irish products on display at the exhibition.
