Every June in Ireland thousands of pupils sit the state set Junior and Leaving Certificate Exams.

Last minute preparations are taking place for the Junior and Leaving Certificate exams. At the Department of Education in Athlone boxes of exam papers are being sent to exam centres around the country.

Reporter Carole Coleman speaks to some mature students from Pearse College, Crumlin who are a bit nervous but looking forward to the opportunities having a Leaving Certificate may offer them.

Teacher John O'Connor offers all those sitting exams some practical advice,

Be yourselves, relax, take it easy. There is no point in panicking because if you panic you won't be clearly focussed on what you are reading and what you are doing.
