In 1953, Busáras, the new central bus station for Dublin opened to the public.

The controversial building was designed by architect Michael Scott and was one of the first major works of modern architecture in Dublin.

Scott talks to Shane Kenny about the construction which he describes as a "political football".

Scott recalls a story about Myles na Gopaleen calling the building the "Bust Terminus" when there were suggestions it was going to be turned into an unemployment exchanged for women.
