Work is underway on a new bridge over the Liffey in Dublin city.
A new bridge for Dublin was announced in 1974 to link Custom House Quay with the south of the city, making it easier for traffic from Amiens Street to cross the River Liffey.
Construction work commences on the bridge to the east of Butt Bridge. The work is being undertaken by Ascon Limited. When completed, the bridge will cross the River Liffey and link Custom House Quay and Memorial Road on the north side of Dublin, to City Quay and Moss Street on the south side.
