U2 record a filmed insert for the BBC programme 'Top of the Pops' on the roof of Dublin's Clarence Hotel.

Crowds on the quays of Dublin and other vantage points near the Clarence Hotel where U2 are to record 'Beautiful Day' for the BBC programme 'Top of the Pops'.

The band arrive at the Clarence Hotel in the rain Bono jokes with reporter Colm Connolly that it is not a beautiful day but it is a beautiful song. Bono explains that U2 could not make it to a recording of 'Top of the Pops' but invited the BBC to film in Dublin.
